POS outages post-refresh
Physical footprint reduction
Power consumption reduction
Stores upgraded
The Retail Challenge
A retail group with 34 stores was operating aging server infrastructure that was causing POS system outages during high-traffic periods. End-of-life hardware meant vendor support had lapsed, leaving the business exposed and unable to process card payments during failures.
Our IT Hardware Solution
Prish Group conducted an infrastructure audit, designed a refreshed architecture with hyperconverged infrastructure at the data centre and hardened edge nodes at each store. We procured, deployed, and configured all hardware with failover redundancy and 24/7 monitoring. The refresh ran in parallel with live operations over a structured rollout plan.
The Outcome
POS outage incidents dropped to zero in the 6 months following the refresh. The hyperconverged setup reduced physical footprint by 60% and cut power consumption by 35%. All hardware is now under active vendor support with 4-hour replacement SLAs.
